How to Wash Cuddly Toys and Soft Toys: A Complete Cleaning Guide
Cuddly toys pick up dust, dribble, food, and mystery stains. Here's how to clean every type safely without ruining them.
Before You Wash
- Read the care label — if it says "sponge clean only," don't submerge
- Check for batteries, music boxes, or heated elements
- Repair loose seams before washing
Machine Washing
- Pop in a mesh laundry bag or pillowcase
- Gentle cycle, 30°C, mild detergent — no fabric softener
- Wash with towels to cushion
Hand Washing (Jellycat, Vintage, Delicate)
- Basin of cold water + teaspoon of mild detergent
